The XY Charger optimizes the log centering and increases the veneer recovery rate.

Laser sensors measure the log surface while it is fixed and rotated by two clamping spindles. The collected data is processed by a computer which will determine the axis of the best cylinder into the log and then the clamping spindles will move in the X and Y plans reaching the optimum centering position and ensuring the maximum possible quantity of wood to be converted into veneer. The use of the XY changer can increase veneer recovery rate in up to 10%.
